If I was the one who asked the gentleman out, then my evening would be more then likely catered to his sense of self, which would mean that we were friends first in order that I would know him this well in the first place. I would want him to be comfortable being himself and my message would be that I am comfortable with his world so I would make an evening of sort of compromise of both our tastes. Probably would start by getting tickets to a sports event that he has been wanting to see or a movie that he would enjoy. Then dinner at my house would be fulfilling but romantic setting with some interaction foods like strawberrys and chocolate etc. Then maybe a little music and go with a very smooth flow after that. Sometimes there just is no need for words, actions speak much louder...
