Ich würde mich selbst beschreiben als
i was talking to someone the other day and after we had talked for a bit, she asked if others found me interesting or intimidating. i had never really thought about it before, but the question makes sense. i tend to use words not in the common parlance, mainly due to having read insatiably during my formative years. and i suppose my personality can be described as forceful- while i reject the idea that i am unquestionably "right", i do tend to see things in terms of logic and the following of process. its the process and natural progression that i believe in, not a blind belief that everything i think is correct, but i guess i don't always come across that way, hence the intimidation. i'm actually a hell of lot more sensitive than most people give me credit for, but becuase they see the veneer of confidence and control, few realize it. i, in fact, view myself as normally being "right" in terms of the day-to-day decisions (work-related and otherwise), but terribly flawed in my ability to make the correct life choices- the big picture decisions, the ones that shape a persons life track. i suppose the silver lining resides in the belief that nothing is set until set in the ground.
i still read quite a bit and i still stick to mainly classics. while a will read modern authors on occasion, i find the flow of the writing to be very simplistic- the dickensonian art of crafting a single sentence that flows for an entire paragraph appears to me to be lost. I tend to hang out at the beach- the constant ebb and flow of the surf is soothing- especially at night under a bright moon. i used to go to bars regularly, but anti-smoking laws have relegated me to the status of second-class citizen (a position i do not relish) and as a result, i rarely bother now. i now tend to prefer a night hanging out at a friend's playing cards (cribbage mostly)- the added perk is having a couch to crash on if the night gets too foggy (never been to a bar that let me do that:).
